Partecipate to a project


Aref International projects are referred to local initiatives promoted by the Association in favour of local Communities, on the basis of the local contacts’ recommendations, chosen and verified by ourselves during our periodical inspections.

Such projects may be long term based or short term based depending on their conclusion through achievement.

The main Projects of Local Initiatives in progress to date are:


“THE QUEST” – News from Exile

It is a social magazine, written both in English and in Tibetan, edited by the young monks of Gaden Jangtse Thoesam Norling School in Mundgod (Karnataka State, South India). The project has the aim to contribute to the propagation of knowledge regarding the problems coming from the refugee conditions of the Tibetan people.

“SPECIAL MEMORIES”

This project begins at the “Old and Infirm House” of Tibetan Settlement in Mundgod (Karnataka State, South India) and will be developed in other locations with the same features and aims. Its aim is to contribute to preserve Tibet  wealth and cultural heritage.

“THE MEMORY ROOMS”

This project is in favour of the hosts of the Old and Infirm House” of Tibetan Settlement in Mundgod (Karnataka State, South India).  Its aim is to equip some suitable premises  for occupational activities and cognitive rehabilitation with the aim  to contribute to preserve Tibet  wealth and cultural heritage.

“AFTERSCHOOL ACTIVITIS … NOT TO FORGET”

This project was developed in favour of the pupils of the  Pre Primary and of the Primary School in Mundgod (Karnataka State). The activities tend to reinforce the oral and written Tibetan language practice. Moreover, with the aim to support the social commitment of new generations,  it promotes the knowledge of  the significant events related to the occupation by Beijing Government.

“TEACHERS’ TRAINING”

This project is related to the work made by 5 civil teachers, members of the staff of the Monastery Gaden in  Mundgod (Karnataka State) who are not benefiting of public funding, which on the contrary happens to their colleagues monks. The subjects taught by such teachers are significantly important to the students’ training because, in addition to the Buddhist religion and philosophy they add English, Grammar, History, Mathematics  and they contribute to a complete training up  to the end of the studies.

“MONASTERIES IN MUNDGOD”

This project’s aim is to support the monastic community of Gaden of  Doeguling Tibetan settlement in Mundgod (Karnataka State, South India) through our involvement in the initiatives in progress.

“ACTIONS IN FAVOUR OF HANDICAPPED PERSONS”

This project’s aim is to support NYINGTOB LING – Tibetan Handicapped Children’s Craft Home in Dharamsala (Himachal Pradesh – India), through direct supporting actions to the activities carried out by the hosts. For example through the BOMBONIERE SOLIDALI (sympathetic bombonnières) or by financing some consolidating works or some activities worked out by the above Craft Home.
